Our French Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) course provides an opportunity for non-specialist French teachers, returning teachers and native speakers of another language to develop their subject knowledge.
TSST courses are FREE OF CHARGE.
French Teacher Subject Specialism Training 2019/20
This course is specifically designed to develop the subject knowledge of qualified teachers who did not train as French teachers. It is also suitable for existing language teachers whose main language is not French and returning teachers who need to refresh their subject knowledge. The programme runs over 6 sessions which will deepen the knowledge and understanding of the important areas needed to deliver successful French lessons. This high quality training opportunity is completely FREE OF CHARGE through funding by the DfE and has been developed in collaboration with the University of Bristol.

Our teacher subject specialism training (TSST) is designed and delivered by experienced teachers at Malmesbury School in collaboration with the University of Bristol. The programme includes face-to-face sessions, gap tasks, collaborative planning and lesson observation of micro teaching tasks in the target language. Details can be found on the flyer.

Spanish Teacher Subject Specialism Training 2019/20
TSST in secondary MFL helps to build capacity in schools to deliver the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). In addition to non-specialists and returning teachers, the programme is available to specialist language teachers not currently teaching but who need a refresher training to enable a move back to MFL, or who may be able to teach a second language.
The Spanish TSST runs over 6 sessions which will deepen the knowledge and understanding of the important areas needed to deliver successful Spanish lessons. What a fabulous course – I’ve become much more confident about using target language and being more adventurous with my activities.
