SPANISH & FRENCH TSST

We are now able to offer FREE Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) for Spanish and French at Malmesbury School.  The programmes start in December and sessions will be run remotely via TEAMS.  TSST courses are fully funded by the DfE and are ideal for teachers teaching as non specialists, those wishing to improve their subject knowledge and returners to teaching.

ENTHUSE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STEM TEACHING – PRIMARY

Congratulations to Maria Madeley from Minety Primary School who, earlier this week, won the Enthuse Award for Excellence in STEM Teaching, Primary in the regional heat for the South & South Wales.  She will now go the national event on 20th June.

Maria, along with other local primary schools (Oaksey, Crudwell, Malmesbury Primary and Trinity) have worked alongside Malmesbury School on an STEM Enthuse project over the last year with the goal of improving science teaching at primary schools and increasing engagement of girls in science.

Well done Maria and good luck in the national finals.

Outstanding Teaching Assistant Programme

New dates are out for the OLEVI Outstanding Teaching Assistant Programme starting in June at Hardenhuish School.

The Outstanding Teaching Assistant Programme (OTAP) is for teaching assistants who are, or who have the potential to be, outstanding in their roles. The programme is intended to develop the potential for Teaching Assistants to have a wider impact on improving the quality of
teaching and learning across the school.

Stimulating Physics Network

The second Stimulating Physics Network workshop of the year is scheduled for Wednesday 27th March, 3.30pm at Sheldon School.  The focus will be Molecules & Matter.

You will be given the opportunity to explore a range of demonstrations, practicals and activities within the context of the physics curriculum.  The event is free of charge to all science teachers, technicians and trainees.
