Year 5/6 High 5 Netball Festival 2022

Y5/6 Team: 5 a side, mixed boys and girls.

Squad size: 7 with a maximum of 2 boys on the court at one time.  Squads to be rotated.

Umpiring

We shall be asking some of our sports leaders and netball team members to help out, but we need to keep this number to an absolute minimum. The leaders are not experienced umpires, they have had a small amount of training but they cannot be expected to umpire to the standard of an experienced adult. You will therefore need to work alongside the leaders initially to ensure that they move to keep up with the play and that they get round the back line to see what’s happening in the circle. Once you’re happy that your leader is mobile, confident at blowing the whistle loudly and able to give clear instructions then feel free to step back and relax! The leaders will also work with your team when you arrive and during gaps between games. They are keen to do well so please encourage them by giving them positive feedback followed by an area to improve on. It’s important that they feel that they’ve had a successful afternoon as well!
