Year 6 Athletics Festival 2022
This festival is for Y6 children only.
Each team needs 10 girls or 10 boys so if you have more than this then make a B team or C team if necessary. With exactly 10 children they can all do a hurdles/field event, then a track event and 8 of them can run a relay. You can accommodate more than 10 in a team by having some children do 2 events rather than 3.
If you have less than 10 children then some can do an extra track event if you think they can cope with it. No-one is allowed to do more than 1 hurdles/field event as they all take place at the same time. No-one is allowed to run in more than 1 relay team.
There is a lot of paperwork involved in preparing for this festival so it is essential that you keep to the deadline date of Thursday 11 June. If a child is absent on the day then another child who is not already doing a track/field event can slot into their place. Changes are not allowed as the names will already have been written onto all of the scoresheets. We will provide you with a copy of your entry form when you arrive so that you can remind the children of their events.
We do hope that all schools will participate. The small schools can participate as individuals if necessary as athletics is all about personal achievements. It would be great to have every Year 6 child here as this festival really does have an impact on the new intake days and the start of Year 7.
